AOVmaxx privacy policy

AOVmaxx is a Shopify app that shows bundle, cross-sell and free-gift offers on a merchant’s storefront and reports what those offers earned. This policy describes what the app stores, why, and for how long. It covers the app only. The merchant’s own store is governed by the merchant’s privacy policy and by Shopify’s.

What AOVmaxx stores

• Session: the Shopify access token and staff account details Shopify issues when the app is installed, so the app can call the Admin API on the store’s behalf.
• Shop: the store domain, install and uninstall timestamps, currency, plan, theme styling read from the storefront, and the app’s own settings for that store.
• Offer: the offers a merchant configures: product IDs, discounts, placement, styling and copy. Product IDs are catalogue data, not customer data.
• AttributionEvent: for each order that contained an offered product: the Shopify order ID, the offer, the surface, the amount attributed and the currency. Used to compute the revenue figure the merchant sees and the usage bracket the app is billed on.
• PendingAcceptance: a short-lived record that a shopper accepted an offer, keyed by an opaque Shopify cart token, so the later order can be matched to the offer.
• WebhookEvent: Shopify webhook IDs and topics, kept only to avoid processing the same webhook twice.
• CommunityPost: an idea, bug report or question a merchant chooses to submit: its title and text, the display name they picked, its status, and, for bug reports only, the app diagnostics shown to them before they send. If the merchant opts in, an email address they enter is kept with the post so the app can tell them when it is answered. A post is private to its author and the AOVmaxx team unless the merchant asks for it to appear on the shared board. The store domain is stored so the app can show a merchant their own posts; it is never displayed to anyone else.
• CommunityVote: that a store voted for a post, so each store counts once.
• CommunityComment: a reply a merchant writes on a post, with the display name they picked and the store domain, held on the same terms as the post itself.
• QuantityOffer: a quantity ladder a merchant built: its name, the products it applies to, what each quantity costs, and how the picker should look. It holds no shopper data and no order data; the prices in it are the merchant’s own.
• CommunityAnnouncement: release notes and maintenance notices the AOVmaxx team publishes for every merchant at once. It holds no store domain and nothing a merchant wrote: it is the app talking, not a record of anyone using it.

What AOVmaxx does not store

AOVmaxx does not request any customer or order access scope, and stores no shopper name, email address, phone number, physical address or payment detail. Its web pixel reports offer IDs, integer amounts in cents and opaque cart and order tokens: no personal information, and nothing is sold or shared with third parties for advertising. The app runs no third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the storefront.

Who the data is shared with

Nobody, other than the infrastructure the app runs on: application hosting and the database that stores the records above. Data is not sold, rented or shared for advertising purposes.

Retention and deletion

Uninstalling AOVmaxx removes the discounts it created, clears the storefront configuration and deletes the store’s session immediately. The app implements Shopify’s three mandatory compliance webhooks: a customer data request, a customer redaction request, and a shop redaction request 48 hours after uninstall, which deletes the store’s offers, attribution records, pending acceptances and community votes. Posts and comments the merchant wrote are kept, with the link to their store removed, because other merchants are reading those threads. A merchant can also request deletion at any time, including of a post or comment, by writing to the address below.
